Turmeric Face Packs According To Your Skin Types

Turmeric has been an integral part of the South Asian cuisine and culture for its beauty and health benefits.

Following are some of the popular face packs made using turmeric powder:

Turmeric Face Packs

 

For Dry Skin:

For those having dry skin always seek for extra moisture and hydration throughout the year and particularly during winters and extreme summers. Following are some face packs for people with such skin type. By adding turmeric powder, they will have extra glow in their skin.

Take 2 teaspoons of gram flour, 1 teaspoon of sandalwood powder, 1 teaspoon of fresh cream, a few drops of olive or almond oil and a pinch of turmeric powder. Mix all the ingredients well. Make sure there are no lumps. Apply this pack on your face and neck area and leave it for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes rinse with water and pat dry.

Mix an egg white with a few drops of olive oil, half teaspoon of rose water, lemon juice and pinch of turmeric powder. Apply this paste on your face and other dry areas of your body. Let it dry and then wash with lukewarm water.

 

For Oily Skin: 

Turmeric is known to regulate the production of excessive sebum and is quite beneficial for the oily skin.

Combine 2 teaspoons of yogurt, 1 teaspoon of fuller’s earth, a few drops of rose water and pinch of turmeric powder. Mix all these ingredients well and apply this paste on your face. Allow it to dry. Wash it off with water afterwards.

Mix 2 teaspoons of orange peel powder and turmeric powder with rose water to form a smooth paste. Apply this mixture on your face and wash after 15 to 20 minutes.

 

For Sensitive Skin:

Sensitive skin is hard to maintain as it is allergic and reacts to most of the cosmetic products. Redness, inflammation and itching are some of the visible and common signs of sensitive skin. Turmeric and aloe Vera are extremely beneficial for the sensitive skin as it soothes and reduces inflammation.

Take 2 teaspoons of fuller’s earth, 1 teaspoon of yogurt, ½ teaspoon of aloe Vera gel and a pinch of turmeric powder. You will need to mash aloe Vera gel first before mixing the other ingredients into it. Mix all the remaining ingredients to form a smooth paste. Apply this face pack on your face and neck and let it stay for 20 minutes. Rinse with cold water.

For those who do not have aloe Vera plant in their home, they can always use commercially available aloe Vera gels to make this face pack.

 

For Fair Skin:

Turmeric is well known to reduce the appearance of blemishes, pigmentation, dark spots, dark circles and suntan. It is also quite effective in reducing fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. Due to its antiseptic properties, it also soothes burns.

Mix lemon juice, gram flour and some turmeric powder to form a paste. Apply this mix on your face and neck and allow it to dry for 15 minutes. Rinse using lukewarm water and pat dry.

 

These are some of the turmeric face packs you can easily prepare at home. Remember; always use only a pinch of turmeric, as too much can stain your skin.
