White-Hat SEO vs. Black-Hat SEO

The competition between Black-Hat and White-Hat SEO is growing grimmer by the minute. The whole of SEO is now divided into two. The difference between the two kinds of SEO is as controversial as ever.
White-Hat SEO, as the term implicitly implies, plays by the rules. Its objective is to build sites that will last on a long-term basis. White-Hat SEO is linked to organic SEO, wherein the focus is on the genuine benefit and quality of the website, no matter how long the SEO process may take. They also stick to ethical means. They also make the site grow gradually over the years, with the intention of making it stay in the running for several years. The longer the site is maintained, the more benefits the owners will be able to reap out of it.
Black-Hat SEO, on the other hand, aims to make money right now. The primary goal is to get the top Google or Yahoo! link. For Black-Hat SEO users, ethics doesn’t really count that much. They have also been referred to as “spammers”. Resorting to unethical means is, for them, just an effort to survive the vigorous SEO world.
However, the line between White-Hat SEO and Black-Hat SEO is becoming thinner and thinner. Although the means and the purposes of each remain different, the distinction is wearing off as Black-Hat SEO becomes typical. If Black-Hat SEO is not a common and conventional method yet, there is a high chance that more people will learn to accept it as an ordinary SEO effort. It will cease to stand out and be labeled negatively, as the term Black-Hat does so.
Each type also has their own places in the world of SEO, without needing to clash against each other. There are some sites that require Black-Hat SEO, for some reason. The choice is ultimately in the hands of the site owners. It all depends on the purpose and permanence that they have in mind for their websites. Is the site intended for long-term use, or is it just for a short period of time? If so, then the need to make as much money from it, during its short running time, is greater, and this may lead to using Black-Hat SEO. For companies, however, who are intending to stay for a good, long time in their industries, they have more at stake when they choose to implement Black-Hat SEO. The better option is to stick with White-Hat SEO. This is still the more reliable and safe choice when you are looking for long-term success.
In reality, however, what does this distinction really do? In marketing, competition is expected to be rough, and it’s all a matter of how brave the marketers are and how closely they venture to the line between legal and illegal means. Why would it be any different for SEO? The question is, how far are you willing to go? Besides, the difference between White-Hat SEO and Black-Hat SEO does not affect each other at all. Each website owner chooses his own method and deals with it, and other website owners will not be affected. It is, however, the problem of search engines. With the success they have so far gained by the sudden uproar in SEO, one problem to deal with isn’t much.
