The Many Flavors of Pakistani Music

Pakistani music derives from many different types of music. Some of the influences include music from South Asia, Turkish, Persian and even Arabic types if music. A combination of these and many other types of sounds and music, Pakistani music had developed a sound all its own.
There are many forms of Pakistani music that are for your listening pleasure. You can choose from Classical, Ghazal, Folk and even Pop Music. For each type of music, there are layers of different types of music for each kind.
When listening to Folk music, you are listening to tales and stories that are about the daily life for folks in Pakistan. There have been many famous people that were folk singers of Pakistani music. There are different types of folk music such as Kashmiri, Balochi, Pashto, Punjabi and Sindhi.
You can also listen to Siraiki, Persian, Shina and Khowar. If you prefer Classical music, you will be greeted by many different notes and sounds that are pleasantly appealing and relaxing. There are also many different instruments that accompany Classical music. These would include the sitar, table, harmonium, sarangi, santoor and the violin.
If you are someone who enjoys listening to music that is about life, romance and love, you will enjoy listening to the music called ghazal. This type of music is a special type of music since it is written a certain way with the notes and the words. It carries such emotion and expression that you can feel what the music is saying to you and making you feel as though you are experiencing every word that they are saying to you.
Ghazal music is very powerful and full of deep serious expression. You will be able to feel the pain and the love that the music is telling you about. It is very poetic and dramatic at the same time. It is almost like listening to a play with the music.
There are also many famous performers and composers from Pakistan as well. Some of these would include Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abida Parven, Bulleh Shah, Sabri Brothers, Aziz Mian, Mehnaz and Alan Lohar. All of these people have either done one or the other when t comes to composing and or performing.
You can also find singers in Pakistan that are known as hamd and nasheeds. These singers are known for singing Islamic religious music. They speak of love for Allah (God) and do this with great poetry. Christian religious music from Pakistan is known as Hamd.
As you can see, there is a great variety in Pakistani music. There is something for everyone to enjoy whether you are looking for something that is relaxing and peaceful or a member of the younger generation that wants to listen to something that is fast paced and upbeat. You will even find that you can listen to music that is religious based and meaningful. Whatever your pleasure is, you will find it with music from Pakistan.
