The Traditional Nan Khatai Recipe For All Sweet Lovers

Caster sugar: 6 ounces
Ghee: 7 ounces
Gram flour: 2 ounces
Cardamom powder: 1 tsp

Baking powder: 2 tsp
Flour: 8 ounces

Baking soda: ½ tsp
Roasted almonds: ½ to ¾ cup
Cardamom powder: 1 tsp

Egg yolk: 2 for brushing

To begin with beat ghee and sugar together with cardamom powder till they turn out to be light and fluffy. After that sift together flour, baking powder, gram flour and baking soda for about two to three times. This will allow the air to flow in and this helps in baking process. Now fold these in the ghee mixture together with roasted almonds. After that roll the dough and cut into nan khatais with a round cookie cutter and put them on a greased baking tray brushed with egg yolk, and bake it at 190 degree C preheated oven for 15 minutes. The delicious and scrumptious nan khatais are ready to serve. For traditional sweet lovers it is surely a treat to have.
