We all know the important of exercise in our daily routines, yet, few of us are actually able to incorporate a workout into our daily schedule. It gets even harder when you are a housewife because while you are at home you’ll always find some chore or task to take care of and before you know it your children will be back from school or your husband will be back from work and you will not be able to get everything done and put in some time for exercise. Here’s how you can take care of your household chores and do some good for your body!
If it’s possible, and time and money allow it, sign up for some kind of workout program or gym or yoga class. A formal program works really well because it makes you focus and takes you away from your household concerns for a fixed amount of time. Plus, under the instructions of a professional, you’ll see results soon. However, we can’t ignore the fact that signing up for an exercise program doesn’t just involve the time spent exercising but also the commute, planning and preparing ahead and of course, you can’t forget to factor in traffic!
The next best thing would be to take up yoga in the house. If you can get an instructor to come for an hour a few days a week, it would do wonders for your health and still leave you enough time to take care of other responsibilities. If you know some yoga routines or other exercises or aerobics, you can even fix one hour in the day to do it on your own. We recommend waking up early, before everyone else does and exercising each morning. Not only will you get your daily dose of exercise but you will also have the whole day left for other things. Plus, you will feel really energized and much stronger through the day!
If none of the above options are feasible, you can make the most out of your household chores. For instance, doing any activity standing up burns more calories than doing it sitting down. So even if you’re just answering a phone call, pace about while talking so you get some exercise. Vacuuming is a great way to get the houseclean and stay fit! Household chores like dusting and polishing can burn dozens of calories!
