Pakistan has always been a powerhouse of ODI cricket and has produced some top quality leading batsmen. Here is the list of top 10 Pakistani ODI batsmen.

Top ODI Batsman 1.       Zaheer Abbas

An elegant player to watch, Zaheer Abbas was the best Pakistani ODI batsman in the early days of one day cricket. He scored seven centuries in just 62 ODI matches at an impressive ODI average of 47.62. The Asian Bradman Zaheer Abbas is the only player from Asia who have scored more than 100 first class centuries.

Another great Pakistani batsman with impressive ODI and test batting record, Javed Miandad was rightly called ‘a man of crisis’ as he helped his team to get out of many difficult situations especially in ODI cricket. Who can forget his match-winning innings at Sarjah in Australasia cup, where he hit six of last ball off Indian bowler.

An important member of Pakistani 1992 world cup winning team, Ijaz Ahmad was a hard-hitting aggressive batsman. His 139 off 84 balls innings against India at Lahore was the highlight of his ODI career where he hit 9 massive sixes during the unbeaten match winning innings.

Wonderful timer and placer of cricket ball, Saeed Anwar is one of the best ODI opening batsman world has ever seen. He held the record of the highest score (194) in ODI for many years.  He was the Wisden Cricketer of the year in 1997 – the same year he established the record of highest ODI score.

Leading run scorer for  Pakistan in ODI, Inzemamul Haq is one of the finest batsman Pakistan has ever produced. He was an important member of Pakistani 1992 world cup winning team where he played a crucial innings of 62 off 37 balls against New Zealand in the semi final. He once held the world record of most number of fifties (83) in ODI.

One of the finest hitter of the cricket ball ever, Shahid Afridi has helped Pakistan won many matches – both with bat and ball. He holds the world records of the fastest ODI century (off 37 balls) and most number of sixes in ODI career. He is nick-named ‘Boom Boom’ due to his aggressive batting style and habit of hitting huge sixes.

With a healthy average of almost 42, Mohammad Yousuf was one of the finest middle order batsman Pakistan has produced. He along with, Inzemamul Haq and Younus Khan made one of the greatest ODI batting middle order. He was one of those batsmen who always used to stay hungry for more runs.

A great middle order batsman of present times, Younus Khan contributed a lot with his field and great leadership qualities. He captained Pakistan to 2009 World T20 victory. He has more than 7000 runs under his belt in ODI.

Top ODI Batsman 10.   Rameez Raja

An elegant player to watch, Rameez Raja was a fine opening batsman who was very strong on the on-side. He was a key batsman in 1992 world cup where he scored two centuries and famously took the catch that won world cup for Pakistan. He is the younger brother of another great Pakistani ODI player Waseem Raja.
