Eid season is around and everyone is thinking of their Eid menus. For Eid ul Adha, beef and mutton dishes are hot favorite. Apart from rice, gravy or dry dishes some cutlets and kabab recipes are a must for eid menu. They are side dishes but still play an integral role in dinners and lunch for get together. Apart from typical and traditional barbeque recipes like seekh kabab, tikka boti or boneless boti etc and chappal kabab, afghani kabab, gola kabab and much more one of the most favorite Eid recipes is boti kabab. Boti kabab are made using both beef or mutton and are delicious like anything. You and your guests will love this simple to make and yummy recipe for sure. Beef boti kabab Ingredients:
Beef or mutton : 1 kg, cut in cubes
Red chilies: 1 tbsp, powdered
Ginger/garlic paste: 1 tbsp
Yogurt: 1/2 cup
Salt: To taste
Raw papaya: 2 tbsp, grind along with peal
Oil: 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds: 1 tsp, roasted and powdered
Lemon juice: 3
How to Make Beef or Mutton Boti Kabab:
Take a bowl and combine all spices with yogurt and lemon. Marinate beef or mutton which is already cut into small cubes in it for an hour or more if you have enough time. Meat can be barbequed on skewers, or cooked on top of a tawa or heavy based fry pan. A non stick frying pan can be best for this purpose. If cooking in a pan, grease the pan lightly and brush oil on meat. Cook, turning the meat occasionally till the liquid evaporates and all sides are cooked well. Now put a hot coal on the meat and pour oil on it. You can put coal on a piece of bread or roti so that the coal pieces do not mix up with the meat. Cover the pan and leave for 10 minutes. Serve with tamarind chutney and naan or rice.
